Storytime for 3 to 5 year olds:

• Opening - "A Tooty Ta" from Dance Like This by Mr. Al

• Color literacy activity - Little Bunnies In a Field of Clover (flannelboard rhyme written by Carol Hopkins)

{Blue} little bunnies hopping onto a field

Finding lots of yummy clover to eat

They eat and they eat until they are full

And they call for more bunnies to join the fun

{Yellow} little bunnies hopping onto a field

Finding lots of yummy clover to eat

They eat and they eat until they are full

And they call for more bunnies to join the fun

(repeat as many times as you wish)

• Sit down activity - Here's a Bunny (fingerplay)

Here's a bunny with ears so funny
(bend two fingers over thumb)
Here is his hole in the ground
(make hole with other arm at side of body)
When a noise he hears
(clap hands)
He pricks up his ears
(straighten fingers)
And jumps in his hole in the ground
(bunny ears jump into hole at side of body)

1 paper plate cut in half for the two ears

2 googly eyes

1 button for the nose

scrape paper to cut up for the whiskers

staplers (for attaching the ears to the face)
