  • Flannelboard - Bluebird, Bluebird Through My Window (song with different colored bird flannel pieces)
  • Book #2 – Maisy Big, Maisy Small by Lucy Cousins
  • Activity – Roly Poly (fingerplay from King County Library System)
(Roll hands together as indicated)Roly poly, roly poly, ever so sloooowly.
Roly poly, roly polly, faster, faster, faster, faster.
Roly poly up,
Roly poly down.
Roly poly, roly poly, all over town.

  • Craft - Glue big, medium, and small squares of wallpaper to make a unique design

Little chick, little chick turn around.
Little chick, little chick touch the ground.
Little chick, little chick dance on your toes.
Little chick, little chick touch your nose.
Little chick, little chick reach up high.
Little chick, little chick jump to the sky.
Little chick, little chick find your feet.
Little chick, little chick find your seat.

This little hen is BLACK (hold up black hens)
She stands in the barnyard by a big hay stack.
This little hen is RED (hold up red hens)
She is very tired and won't get out of bed.

She is feeling glad and wearing a crown.
This little hen is YELLOW (hold up yellow hens)
She's friends with the rooster; he's a handsome fellow.
This little hen is WHITE (hold up white hen)
She dance's and plays, oh what a sight.

She spends her day running around in circles.
This little hen is GREEN (hold up green hen)
She is the silliest hen I've ever seen.

She lays eggs for me and you.

She goes down to the pond to get a drink.
All of these hens live at the farm
